National Watermelon Day

watermelon salad

Oh dear….Me and watermelon salad go back a looong way. Please, do me a favor and DON”T google my first watermelon salad recipe. I am sure you could find it somewhere and I can assure you, it didn’t look this good…haha!

Truth is, this salad was one of my first attempts at trying a different flavor combo…so whenever I see this salad, it kinda transports me right back to the beginning of Real Girls Kitchen…to the time when I couldn’t cook anything!!! When my blog was more about sharing my mistakes instead of my original recipes. My oh my, how life surprises you and how many things change over just a few short years.

Let’s get to the watermelon…I have loved these flavors for forever…and for good reason! They are delicious. I love watermelon with salt and just isn’t the same without a big squeeze of lime. So here we go…again, because why not? Ya know?
