LifeHack: Marshmallows

I love a good wives tale, a tall tale, a pony tail (ok, I’m getting carried away)…even a made up tale! This however, is legit.

Late one night, as I was browsing the information super highway…as we all do…I stumbled upon something kind of interesting. I was searching for easy home remedies for a sore throat. I had a scratch in my throat, nothing crazy, just a bit of a tickle. It wasn’t to the point that I wanted to go take some type of medication, but some warm tea was happening in the near future.

Then I found it…the best news to happen to kids in a long time!

Did you know…that chewing and sucking on a couple marshmallows will soothe a sore throat??

I didn’t! So I put this to the test and low and behold, it worked! I wasn’t cured by any means but I was certainly in a better mood! ha I think it is something to do with the gelatin…Whatever it may be, I’m pretty sure you will have an easier time getting your kid to chew on a marshmallow than swallowing a spoonful of cough syrup!

I wish I could take all the credit for this brilliant tidbit, and quite honestly, I don’t even know who can! I stumbled across it in Pinterest, but there are other sources for it too. Soooo as much as I would love to give credit where it’s due, this is one of those “tale as old as time” type of deals.

What do you think?? Give it a try and let me know…

*Obviously this is not meant to be in place of real medication. If your little one is sick, please get them to the pediatrician. In this case, the marshmallow can simply lift the spirits!

*All snacks should be given to children with supervision. Marshmallows can be a choking hazard to small children.
