Welcome to the easiest dessert in the world! By now we are all aware of my baking shortcomings…but not today! Today I am sharing with you my tried and true, no frills dessert…that even a rookie baker can perfect!
I started making this for Matty last summer and it quickly became a favorite in our house. It’s sweet and light but really hits the spot when you need something decadent.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
You need:
Loads of berries! (I used strawberries, blueberries & raspberries) They melt down so I like to pile them high in my skillet…
Mix berries, 2 tbsp of sugar in a large bowl. Transfer to cast iron skillet. Sprinkle 1 tbsp of flour across berries. Heat berries on low while you prepare the crumble!
For the crumble:
6 tbsp of melted butter (not softened…melted!)
3/4 cup of flour
1/2 cup of sugar
3/4 cups of quick cook oats
1/2 cup of brown sugar
nice big pinch of salt
Melt butter in small sauce pan. In mixing bowl combine dry ingredients. Pour butter in and combine till small pea size crumbles appear.
Spoon crumble over berries, drizzle with a small amount of agave and place in hot oven for 20 minutes. garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
