Pros of Probiotics!

If you are like me, you are always looking for a way to feel better, stronger and healthier! I recently watched Suzanne Sommers on a morning show and she was a bucket of knowledge! I have added her new book to my must read list…that I will get to…um, when Ryan is probably 14!

Good ol’ Suzanne really stressed the importance of taking a daily probiotic and that got me thinking…why am I not doing that?! It is such a simple way to boost your immune system and your overall health.

I started doing some research of my own. As I trolled through some “Mommy Blogs” I found that tons of nursing Mom’s are taking a probiotic everyday to help their babies with gas and digestion. Genius! (Btw you would take just about ANYTHING to get rid of your baby’s gas!)

Then, I discovered that probiotics actually reach much further than just tummy troubles. Some studies have shown that there is a direct link between your colon and your immune system, and that certain probiotic strains boost measures of immune response! It is unclear wether they can prevent a cold…but if they help, even a tiny bit…I’m on board!

Other fun facts about probiotics? They help with high cholesterol, high blood pressure, eczema and some even say weight loss!
