After we wrapped shooting on Real Girl’s Kitchen season 1 I had some lbs to lose! Although I love to workout, dieting is not my favorite thing by any means. I fight cravings and have the occasional slip-up that feels like it sets me back a week! One way I love to combat cravings is with a good juicy burger! Ya gotta skip the bun and punch up the flavor!
These greek burgers are an awesome way to get your burger on without the guilt!
We are adding lots of veggies and a lettuce wrap to make eating easy!
What you need:
3/4 lb of lean lamb ground
2 tsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1tbp chopped bell pepper…any color!
2 tb chopped feta
Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl with your hands. Divide in to even sections and press in to rounds.
*****RGK tip! Using your finger, press a small dent in to the top of each burger. This will prevent the burgers from puffing in to a ball when you grill them. ******
1 cup greek yogurt
2 tablespoon chopped fresh mint
1 tb fresh dill
2 tsp finely chopped garlic
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Generous sprinkle of sea salt, black pepper and paprika…for some added heat..add a pinch of cayenne
Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and chill.
To make the burgers:
Bring a grill pan or an outdoor grill to medium heat. Get the grill nice and hot and add burgers. Grill about 4 minutes on each side or until cooked. I like mine a little rare, but add a few more minutes on each side if you like your meat more well done.
Layer your burger over 1 cup of arugula and some sliced cherry tomatoes and cucumbers. Top w Tzatziki!
