E.S.K…to tear basil



My mom just got home from her faaaabulous trip to Italy, where she cooked and drank herself silly, and came back with all kinds of awesome food tips! One that really stuck out to me was the basil chopping technique. Or lack there of…Italians don’t chop, they tear. The stainless knife and harsh edging turns the leaves brown of the edges. (BTW I have totally experienced the brown edges they speak of)

Those Italians know their basil, and have a great technique! Now, you will too!

What you need: Basil!



How to:

Stack some nice pieces of basil and roll them…

Give it a twist…

Tear of small pieces…
