July 4th Chipotle Deviled Eggs

Everyone loves deviled eggs and I think they are the perfect addition to any backyard shindig. It doesn’t matter if you are hosting or attending, you can whip these babies up in no time. Gone are the days of boiling and peeling eggs. Thanks to the geniuses that created the pre-peeled hard boiled eggs in a bag. You can find them at most grocery stores and they are a dream come true. They are perfectly peeled, have bright yellow yolks and even come in the organic variety. Don’t be afraid to play with with flavor combinations! These are a spicy variety, but while you’re at it you could try…

Pickles and Fresh Dill Deviled Eggs

or

Chive and Truffle Oil Deviled Eggs

To make 6 eggs:

A Ziploc or pastry bag

2 tbsp of olive oil mayo

2 tbsp of Dijon Mustard

1 tbsp of adobo sauce (It’s the sauce that the chipotle pepper comes in…in a can. )

I used a spicy pickled okra slice as a garnish.

Slice eggs in half and place yolks in a mixing bowl, add above ingredients. Fill the Ziploc or pastry bag with yolk mixture and cut the tip of the bag. Fill the egg shells and garnish with okra and cayenne. Use paprika if you don’t want the added heat from the cayenne.

You might be a genius! I make these all the time and would’ve never thought to use the hard-boiled eggs from the store. Do you think it affects the taste at all (vs fresh?) Granted, it’s not as cheap but my time peeling a dozen+ eggs is worth it!
